I remember as a kid I used to see these Indian kids with Fararis, this was in the 90s and the reason they had money was because their parents had worked all their life's in the corner shop and saved every penny. The parents were dedicated to making a better life for their kids, and since they were poor, getting a better life meant making money. The problem was that the kids didn't have the same experience as their parents. They didn't suffer poverty, and they didn't feel the need to make money like their parents. So basically, they had no aim in life so they ended up spending it on Ferraris.
What we can learn from this is that you need a higher purpose. Your purpose cannot just be not to suffer, it has to be something positive and it has to include something beyond yourself.
So, don't be a corner shop Ferrari parent if you can be better. Lovely people by the way, they did a lot more for their kids then many other parents.
