Lessons from the open source movement

The open source movement was started because people said people are being too selfish, let's create a new movement where we make stuff for free. The idea was to change the culture where everyone would be more giving. The problem is that powerful corporations took control over the usage of major projects. A great example is android. So obviously many people in the movement feel disheartened.

My suggestion is to make a new movement where they do any business but the profits go for a higher purpose. So a Issachar and Zebulun but as a single community where some people work more on making money or getting resources and other work more on making a better quality community, spiritual development and guide the community in making their surroundings better.

The details would need to be sorted out. For example would it have a leader or would it be leaderless, if there was a leader would it be a democracy etc.
